                            Introduction

This software enables the user to 'grab' a screenshot from any
Archimedes/A300/A5000 machine that is connected to your machine via an
Econet network. EyeBall requires 64K, a desktop to multitask in, and
RiscOS 2/3.0

Before using this software, the author requests that you consider the
following:
Using this software to spy on other people is a violation of the
individual's right to privacy. IE: What someone is doing on their computer
is their business. Not yours.

EyeBall is FREEWARE. You may copy it, keep it, give it away, but you are not
permitted to change it. The author retains copyright.

The Interface module is copyright Simon Huntington, and is included here for
completeness.

                            Using !EyeBall

Before using EyeBall, you should ensure that your machine is connected to
Econet. Ensure that the ColourTrans module is loaded Version0.52 ( RO2 only:
This is found in the System:Modules directory under the name of 'Colours'.
Double click on the module to load it.)

Double Click on the Filer !EyeBall icon to begin. All going well, you should
be greeted by the copyright message.

                            Grabbing Screens

Click SELECT on the icon bar icon, the Grab Screen window will open. There
are four icons if interest in this window:

The STATION icon: Click SELECT and type in the station number of the
                      target machine.
The TELEFAX MENU: Click MENU or SELECT to obtain a list of TeleFax
users. You must, of course, be running TeleFax to use
                      this facility.
The CANCEL icon: Click SELECT to cancel the operation, and close this
                      window.
The GRAB icon: After you have selected a station, either by typing it
it, or by choosing it from the TeleFax menu, click
here to begin the GRAB operation.

Grabbing a screen takes time. EyeBall lets you cancel the grab at any point.

If the grab is successful, the screen will be displayed in a window.
Clicking MENU over this window will provide you with the following items to
choose from:

Info: Opens a window, conveying useful information about the
screen, and the station from which it was grabbed.
Save: Leads to a standard "Save As" box. The screen can be
                      saved as a sprite.
Zoom: To Expand and contract the image.
Delete Screen: Deletes the screen, closes the window, and returns
                      memory to the wimp.

You can move the screen image around inside the window by clicking SELECT
and dragging...

Finding The Station Numbers Of Other Archimedes

Either ask your Network Administrator, or use the Utility called "FindArcs"
which is inside the !EyeBall application directory. To use it, just double
click on its Filer icon, the utility will scan your local network for
A3000/A5000/Archimedes machines...

                         Errors And Limitations

Several Factors can effect an affect on EyeBall's performance:
Screen mode: EyeBall cannot correctly grab a screen which is in a
screen mode that your computer doesn't know about, or
that may be defined differently on your machine.
Palette: Some software changes the palette, so that EyeBall
cannot grab the correct screen colours.
Protection: If a machine is protected against Machine Peeks, and
Peeks, then EyeBall cannot grab its screen.

Most errors have been trapped. If you have any trouble with the software,
please inform me and I'll see what I can do...
